From Noosa Heads to Manly

On 25th, Christmas day, we wanted actually go surfing with our X-mas hats and take somenice pictures for the family. Unfortunately, we still couldn't go into deep water as the surf and swell looked still pretty dangerous and coast guards prevented people from going in. So we decided just to watch the pro's(they found a really nice place) and drive on. We wanted to reach Surfers Paradise that day.

Massive waves
in a little bay with smaller waves, the pro's were at work.

Nice little place for Breakfast.
Happy X-mas! =D
Brisbane

Flood memorial in the botanic gardens, the large one was from January 2011.

Famous South Bank.
Sydney we come!
Surfers Paradise

X-mas BBQ dinner with friends from school.

Washing up at the public toilets...
On 26th the keys got lost, so we had to wait until 27th to get a replacement.
We arrived in Byron Bay the 27th evening and met some friends.

Byron should be notorious for the fact that its cops are really strict with campers who camp next to the road. So we drove out of town to go to the recommended parkking space near the highway. We arrived pretty late, it was dark, but to our satisfaction, there were heaps of other campervans staying overnight. However, we discovered that huge NO CAMPING sign(background) the next morning.
We drove back to Byron Bay and went on the famous hill, where a lighthouse is.
Having a stunning 360-view, we enjoyed our breakfast.

Having afterwards surfed in Byron, we agreed to drive on.

We arrived in Coffs Harbour and went straight into the next pub to get wireless and a coke(no drink driving folks!)
Coffs Harbour is famous for its huge banana production, we saw heaps of banana fields on our way though we somehow never took a picture.
Not alyways did we drive on the pacific highway, often we tried to stick as close as possible to the sea and thusly, we saw some really funny things like this airfiels on a sheep cattle. Fences are to be removed before take off!!
One of the most beautiful beaches we went to. The current was pretty strong though.

Near Forster, Booti Booti National Park. Amazing.
Watch out for Koalas!

Luckily we got some good music, so driving was really fun!
Another unkown beach far away from the highway.
Sleeping on a parking space, there were some other campers too.

Newcastle the next morning. Today we wanted to drive on the old pacific highway to Sydney!
But first we enjoyed breakfast as usual...=D

Unbelievable that we did not take any more pictures of surfing...

The old highway number 1.
Back to Sydney, traffic jam!

Best regards
