Schoggi, Roesti and Toronga Zoo (19th, 20th and 21st November)

Hej there!
Just to give an overview over this excellent week-end!

It hit me. Not only did it hit me but also the receptionist at my residence. Since then he always says hello when he sees me! This should be the biggest "survival parcel" ever seen in GVA(Greenwich Village Accommodations), which I received on Friday evening.

Saturday afternoon and evening: Michael, Martin and me decided to show some of the Swiss traditional dishes to some friends and our teacher. So we cooked for an Italian girl out teacher, who comes originally from Vietnam, and his friend, originally from Greece. We planned to cook the Swiss Roesti with eggs, bacon, cheese and onions. We wanted to serve it with Mozarella from Italy, green salad and Swiss chocolate as a dessert. Taking up this challenge meant us to improvise a lot. Especially when buying the groceries, we had to manage to make a lot of right choices such as finding the right butter to roast the roesti, cheese, potatoes and bread. The facilities were quite unusual to us as well. In the end we were quite satisfied with it though! Result depicted beneath!
The famous Roesti!
Our Menue(Without the chocolate)
Our additional guest(6-7cm in length)

On my way home I first thought to see a cat which was in fact a huge possum in the tree just 2 streets from home!

This Sunday, we went to the Toronga Zoo, a must for every tourist because of its fantastic Australian exhibits. The weather hasn't been so good since two weeks!
Here some impressions!
We took the ferry, as it is just on the other side of the harbor.

A huge rattlesnake!
Cobra
The Taipan, an exceptional aggressive and higly venomenous snake!
taipan
Finally, it rained again. However, we had an outstanding day with lots of pleasure and the sun was shining throughout almost the whole day!
I hope you enjoyed it!

All the best again!

Flo
